Schneider Electric India Foundation (SEIF) in association with SHARP NGO organized the grand finale ‘Green Championship 2017’ under its ‘Conserve My Planet’ program at St. Claret School, Bangalore. Around 200 Green Ambassadors, along with 24 teachers from 12 reputed schools from Bangalore participated in the event. Mr. Satish Menon – Director, Customer Satisfaction and Quality, Schneider Electric India Foundation administered the Power Pledge.
Elaborating on the event, Mr. Prashanth Shetty, Assistant Manager - CSR, Schneider Electric India spoke about the Foundation and provided a brief insight into the ‘Conserve My Planet’ Program. Rev. Fr Joshi, Principal of the host institution, St. Claret School, spoke about the importance of using reusable cloth bags instead of plastic bags as a part of the green drive. Rajath, of class V shared his experience as a Green Ambassador and Mrs. Kanchan Singh, Green Teacher Co-ordinator, also recounted her experiences. The program seeks to spread awareness among young minds about the importance of conserving energy and protecting the environment. ‘Green Championship’ is the city-level event of the ‘Conserve My Planet’ program which is being held in ten cities across India. Bangalore is the third city to host the Green Championship.
